On February 1, 2008, Mishima Paper Co., Ltd. became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nippon Paper Group. On April 1, 2008, it absorbed and merged with Kochi Mill of Nippon Daishowa Paperboard Co., Ltd., resulting in the establishment of Nippon Paper Papylia Co., Ltd.
